Kids make their own schedules! We changed the time for this shoot a number of times because K kept moving his nap time around. On the day of the shoot, he decided to sleep in. I was happy he did because it meant I was there for bathtime! I love capturing the beauty of everyday events. The focus of this shoot was on capturing K and his family as they are now. His bathtime, lunchtime, snuggle time and playtime.

When K first woke up he was pensive and calm. His Dad said “maybe we should get the photos done now, before he wakes up!” His Dad was right! Once K woke up he was on the MOVE. He does nothing slowly! This session was full of fun, giggly chaos! Perfect!   I felt like I’d had a good workout by the end.

Thank you to K’s parents for having me over (and for sending me home with an awesome curry!) He is such a loving, playful, and sweet little man. I can see why you are so completely smitten by him! Enjoy your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch with your gallery soon.

When I first decided I was going to pursue a career in photography, I never imagined all of the benefits that would come from it. There was the obvious – getting to grow as an artist and learning how to be a business owner. I didn’t expect that I would meet some of my best friends as we all learned and grew together.

I am so lucky to be a part of a small group of photographers who initially met because we wanted to challenge and help each other as we developed our businesses and craft. That part of our friendship is still there, but it is now overshadowed by deep friendships that have formed. I adore these girls but we are spread all over the USA and Canada. We make a point of getting together once or twice a year for girls’ weekends – I leave these weekends energized and refreshed. These girls bring out the best in me.

This shoot was done at the end of our trip to Vancouver, Washington.  There were 6 of us shooting at the same time :) This is Amber Anderson (an amazing photographer) and her beautiful family. Amber is an inspiration to me – she has an eye for beauty and is one of the kindest, smartest and gentlest people I know. She loves her family fiercely. I loved having the opportunity to capture them hanging out and being themselves.

Amber – thank you for all that you do for me and our little group. Your strength, dedication to your friends, your humour and your ability to love so wholeheartedly is such a blessing to us all. We love you! <3

I’ve been photographing this family steadily for the past 3 years – it started when Dana was pregnant with K. It has been so great to watch this family grow to what they are now and get the chance to do a fall mini session with them!

K is an inquisitive boy who enjoys exploring the woods and collecting pinecones and logs. He was also very excited to feed the birds – it was hard to tear him away! However, he was happy to sit and snuggle with his little brother for a few minutes.

T is a calm and smiley boy who was happy to just be with people. He enjoys giggling at the funny faces his mother makes and exploring the world around him (including the odd nibble on a leaf).  You can tell he adores his older brother – the majority of captures of the two of them together involves T looking up at K!

Dana and Mike – thank you again for giving me the opportunity to capture your sweet family. I always enjoy how calm and peaceful our sessions are – and I always leave wishing we’d have more time to chat! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek – I’ll be in touch very soon with your gallery!

Joanne and I have been trying to schedule this session for a while now. Each time we had a date and time set, it would be rainy and cold. Luckily the third time was a charm and we had a beautiful sunny (and warm!) October Sunday afternoon!

Ryan and Sadie were so full of joy and energy throughout this shoot. They were EXCITED to feed the birds on the trail and loved dashing through the woods (and singing at the top of their lungs). It was fun to follow them around and just capture the joyfulness of childhood. I also loved watching them interact with their parents – they were happy to pull them along in their adventures.

Joanne and Chris – thank you so much for having me out to capture your beautiful family. It was such a pleasure to spend time with you all! Enjoy your sneak peek – your gallery will be following shortly!

I’ve said it many times on my blog, but I’ll keep repeating it – I love having clients that become regulars! I first met Tara, Darren, Keegan and Finn last year for this shoot. This time, they requested a (fully clothed) session that captured them wandering through their neighborhood. Tara’s parents also joined us. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon – we got to wander and chat, stop and take photos, play around on scooters and have crawling races. This family is so much fun to be with – I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to hang out with them and capture their connection.

Darren and Tara – thank you so much for having me back to capture your family. I enjoy chatting travel and running with you (I finally got a “runner’s wave” this weekend!). Keegan and Finn are such sweet, fun loving and adventurous boys. I was especially touched by what a sweet big brother Keegan is – I can tell that Finn adores him too! They have a special bond and I hope I get to continue following them as they grow up! Enjoy your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch very soon with your gallery!

I knew when Janet and I finally met we were going to get along. She contacted me back in August to book a fall family session because it is her favourite time of year. I had so much fun planning out the details with her of where we would go and what they would wear (she did an awesome job dressing her family!). We booked the session for the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend – not knowing that this was going to be a REALLY warm fall and the leaves would not have turned in all of my favourite spots. We didn’t want green!

The night before our shoot I went on a little reconnaissance mission to find us some fall colours and I stumbled upon this place. The lighting was so gorgeous and the colours were perfect! I was so excited to find this perfect spot for their family session. We had so much fun during this session – tickling, giggling, throwing leaves, pushing jogging strollers through makeshift trails and attempting to feed birds. Lauren was adorable and didn’t need any direction for posing for the camera and sweet little Ethan was content to sit in a pile of leaves and explore!

Thank you Janet and Marc for having me out to capture your family at this beautiful time of year! I’m thrilled with what we have created! Enjoy your sneak peek – I’ll be in touch with your gallery soon!
