I was so happy to hear from I and A that there was a new addition to their family. A few years ago, I photographed their gorgeous first born C (her post can be found here). As you can see, the beautiful long eyelashes she had as a baby are still present 3 years later! She has grown into such a sweet and adventurous little girl. While we were waiting for her baby sister to finish her meal, she gave me a tour of her room and a few guitar lessons. I love these little unexpected moments.

Once little J was finished eating, she was wide awake and ready for her shoot. She was happiest being snuggled and just observing what was happening around her. I sat back and captured what naturally happened in front of me. She watched intently as her sister played with her toes. She peeked up at me and then snuggled contently into Mom’s neck. She gazed up at her father as he spoke softly to her. As she got tired she let us know that she needed rocking and walking. Once asleep, she stayed peacefully in her parents’ arms as she was snuggled and smooched by her sister. I hope these photos help them all to remember the sweet, daily moments that happen with a new baby.

Thank you I and A for having me over again. You have such a sweet family – I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with you all! I will be in touch soon with your gallery!

These are lovely! So natural and soft and fun. Great session!

I loved shooting this session. When I got home after this shoot I  downloaded my cards to see what we captured. I immediately started selecting which ones I was going to blog and I noticed that they all had something in common. My favourites from this shoot were all little moments in between posing (honestly, these are always my favourite). Those little moments capture real life as it was during the first few weeks with a newborn. Little Olive will  look back at these photos and her parents will be able to tell her the stories of how hard it was to resist kissing her, how they couldn’t take their eyes from her, how peaceful breastfeeding could be, how she loved being swaddled and snuggled and how Daddy had a special way of calming her. This is a special family and that little girl is so lucky to now be a part of it.

Thank you N and E for the wonderful afternoon. I feel so blessed to have met you! I’ll be in touch with your gallery soon.

N and E were really relaxed throughout this session and said that they were looking for captures that showed who they were – natural and happy. They are so much more than that too! They have a fabulous sense of humour and such a relaxed nature about them – there little one is entering a fun family!

This young man was my last shoot of 2012- what an enjoyable way to end the year! The focus of the session was on V and his piano.  I was blown away by V’s talent – he was excited to show me what he could do and he was so patient when I requested he play something again.  This kid is passionate about playing and anyone listening to him can tell. His parents must be incredibly proud of their 7 year old  and I am sure that we are going to be hearing about him in the future!

Thank you so much S and A for having me in your home to capture your sweet boy! I look forward to hearing all about where he ends up!

I had the absolute pleasure of second shooting Ashley and Pat’s wedding with Barb Cameron of Barbara Anne Studios this September and let me tell you, it was FUN. When I met Ashley and Pat I could see why Barb had said to me that I was going to love shooting this wedding. This couple was up for anything and so full of energy and laughs. The details were gorgeous and were made by Ashley and her crew (I believe they were referred to as “Etsy on crack”).  The wedding was held in Mont Tremblant, Quebec – which was a perfect setting for this outdoorsy couple. The chapel was quaint and cozy and guests were taken up to the reception in gondolas (the ride down at the end was SO beautiful!)

Ashley got ready in a beautiful chalet. The mood was so laid back and relaxed!

I love that both Mom and Dad were there to help her get ready.

Ashley was a natural in front of the camera – isn’t she stunning? Even the ceremony was full of laughter and fun!

After the ceremony we had fun running around the village and up the mountain for some formal portraits.

Did I mention all the details?

LOVE that there was an air guitar duet in the middle of their first dance!

A BIG thank you to Barb for having me out to second shoot – I hope we get to do it again soon! Thank you, also, to Ashley and Pat – I had a blast! Your wedding was such a joy to be at – it was so full of love and laughter.  I hope your honeymoon was just as much fun!

This family holds a special place in my heart as they were my very first “Google client” when I opened my business 4.5 years ago. We’ve met at least once a year since then and I have loved getting to see their family grow.

Liam and Owen are two very special boys – and their love for each other is so obvious. Owen was so helpful throughout the shoot – keeping Liam occupied, driving him around in his jeep, feeding him rocks and serving him birthday cake. Liam was happy to follow along with whatever Owen was doing. Their bond is a special one and I hope I get to continue to capture it in years to come!

Thank you C and D for having me over again – I love our yearly catch ups!

Doesn’t she have the most gorgeous eyelashes?

This little beauty made us work for the session – which was fine with me, I enjoyed the cuddle time! When she was sleeping, she liked to be left alone. We’d wait until she was in a deep sleep and then I’d attempt to move her. She’d let us get one pose, and then she’d let us know that she  just wanted to be left alone to sleep peacefully. I can’t say I blame her – I don’t like to be bothered when I’m sleeping either! As with all newborn sessions, we followed her lead and I love what we created.

Thank you N and R and big sister M – it was so great to catch up and chat. You have such a sweet and gorgeous family! Enjoy your sneak peek, your gallery will be ready shortly!

I love how peaceful these are. Love all that hair too. Precious!

I was excited to hear that this family was expecting a new addition! We had such a great time at our family shoot two years ago (see here). We also love the same type of photography – relaxed and natural. When I asked what they were looking for for this session, they wanted the focus to be on interactions in their own environment. This is my absolutely favourite thing to capture! When I look back on my own childhood photos, my favourites are the ones that tell the story of where I lived, who loved me, what we did etc.

When E looks back at her 3 month photos, I hope she is able to see what was there during our shoot. This little girl is so loved by her parents and big sister. She lives in a  beautiful house surrounded by nature with parents who will encourage her to be herself and who value individuality. She has a big sister who really loves being in photos with her (but who is also happy to have a little photoshoot just by herself!) Her family loves to hold her, love her and just be with her. I hope she looks back on these photos and smiles.

Thank you C and E for having me out again! As promised – here is your blog post!

These are gorgeous. That one in the rocking chair by the window is my absolute favorite but all are wonderful. My favorite kind of newborn photography.

These are stunning, every single one of them!

When C contacted me to inquire about a session, I knew we’d be a good fit! She said she loved natural, outdoor photos and she wanted photos that captured “how our family is at the moment for our memories”. They way she described her kids made them sound fun and rambunctious (they were!). I was looking forward to this shoot!

This session makes me smile. These kids were sweet when I asked them to sit for some headshots but they completely came alive when they were told to run and explore. Their energy and enthusiasm was contagious! I love the images we made.

C and P – thank you so much for having me out to take photos of your sweet family! Enjoy your blog post!
