I saw little T’s family for a mini session in the fall and was thrilled to see them again so soon for a 6 month session. This session focused around things that T loves – baths, playing with Mommy and Daddy, apples and just being social. He was an absolute joy to spend time with – so smiley and happy. I’m sure you can see his little personality in these captures.

D and M – thank you AGAIN for having me out for T’s 6 month session!

Love these! I LOVE that one of baby splashing in the water-adorable!

Now that the busy holiday season is over I have a little bit of breathing room to get caught up on my blogging! I have quite a few to post, so this blog should be busy in the next few weeks! On a night that is calling for -30 degree weather, it feels good to see some warm, sunny photos!

I’ve photographed this family since the beginning of my business and they hold a special place in my heart. I’ve loved getting to watch their family grow from 2 to 4 over the last few years.

We wandered the golf course and let the boys explore – C favoured climbing trees and searching for golf balls in the rough. B preferred sticking his hands down the holes. Their cousins were along for their own photoshoot (blog post to come!). I loved capturing them running and enjoying themselves. One of my favourite captures of the session is posted below. The boys were told to wait in a line until I gave them instructions – then I told them to RUN. I love their expressions and how they came at me full tilt!

Thank you Caroline and Mike for having me out (again!) to capture your beautiful family. I always love our time together.

You never cease to amaze me!! These are stunning!

This session opened with a listen to “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO while the 2 year old shook it for us. He is quite passionate about his dancing, and it was one of the most energetic ways I’ve opened a session! It was a fun moment on many levels – I captured O over two years ago when he was a newborn. I love watching families grow and seeing how my little newborns develop personalities. O went from being folded on a little bean bag in the bathroom (it’s where the best light was!) to fist pumping in the living room!

His new little brother seems to be following in his party footsteps! Right now, he prefers to be up and eating rather than relaxed and sleeping (at least for this shoot!). He was happy to be surrounded and snuggled by people, and he seemed to prefer to be awake and not miss any of the action! His big brother was quite similar – during  his newborn shoot he would open one eye to peek at me when I was SURE he was asleep.

This was my fourth shoot with this family and each time I leave feeling lucky they “found” me (they were my very first “Google” inquiry!) I love hearing about what they have been up to and chatting parenting, traveling and running with them! Thank you C and D for a wonderful and relaxing session (with a little dance thrown in) – I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch with your gallery soon!

I’ve been photographing this family steadily for the past 3 years – it started when Dana was pregnant with K. It has been so great to watch this family grow to what they are now and get the chance to do a fall mini session with them!

K is an inquisitive boy who enjoys exploring the woods and collecting pinecones and logs. He was also very excited to feed the birds – it was hard to tear him away! However, he was happy to sit and snuggle with his little brother for a few minutes.

T is a calm and smiley boy who was happy to just be with people. He enjoys giggling at the funny faces his mother makes and exploring the world around him (including the odd nibble on a leaf).  You can tell he adores his older brother – the majority of captures of the two of them together involves T looking up at K!

Dana and Mike – thank you again for giving me the opportunity to capture your sweet family. I always enjoy how calm and peaceful our sessions are – and I always leave wishing we’d have more time to chat! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek – I’ll be in touch very soon with your gallery!

Joanne and I have been trying to schedule this session for a while now. Each time we had a date and time set, it would be rainy and cold. Luckily the third time was a charm and we had a beautiful sunny (and warm!) October Sunday afternoon!

Ryan and Sadie were so full of joy and energy throughout this shoot. They were EXCITED to feed the birds on the trail and loved dashing through the woods (and singing at the top of their lungs). It was fun to follow them around and just capture the joyfulness of childhood. I also loved watching them interact with their parents – they were happy to pull them along in their adventures.

OMG, love this! They are gorgeous!

I’ve said it many times on my blog, but I’ll keep repeating it – I love having clients that become regulars! I first met Tara, Darren, Keegan and Finn last year for this shoot. This time, they requested a (fully clothed) session that captured them wandering through their neighborhood. Tara’s parents also joined us. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon – we got to wander and chat, stop and take photos, play around on scooters and have crawling races. This family is so much fun to be with – I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to hang out with them and capture their connection.

Darren and Tara – thank you so much for having me back to capture your family. I enjoy chatting travel and running with you (I finally got a “runner’s wave” this weekend!). Keegan and Finn are such sweet, fun loving and adventurous boys. I was especially touched by what a sweet big brother Keegan is – I can tell that Finn adores him too! They have a special bond and I hope I get to continue following them as they grow up! Enjoy your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch very soon with your gallery!

Seeing as I am the father of these two wonderful boys and the lucky husband of the beautiful woman in the one photo, I am a bit biased. However, Jenn has a magical ability to capture true emotions in a fun way. Having our photos taken byu her is a blast and the results are trult incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (and thanks everyone else for your kind comments about our family). Jenn – you rock!

Tara posted the following on October 25, 2011 at 11:04 pm.

You know when you have those days, the logistics may be different, but the feelings are the same… Today, I was traveling, awake in the hotel at 5:30am, challenging customer meeting, missed flight home, back in Ottawa office to take a late night video conference, chastised at work, oldest son is working hard; but feels he is falling behind, baby is teething, husband out of town, wonderful mother and father probably sick of looking after their near 40 year old daughter, I cannot find my internal compass… and then I see these, with tears in my eyes… my family, my reason for working, even more importantly, my reason for being, the essence of why I am at peace, and Jenn captures what is best in my life with such clarity. Jenn, I thank you for the gift of remembering why….

Gorgeous work Jen. I love the personalities of these 2 brothers shining through.

I knew when Janet and I finally met we were going to get along. She contacted me back in August to book a fall family session because it is her favourite time of year. I had so much fun planning out the details with her of where we would go and what they would wear (she did an awesome job dressing her family!). We booked the session for the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend – not knowing that this was going to be a REALLY warm fall and the leaves would not have turned in all of my favourite spots. We didn’t want green!

The night before our shoot I went on a little reconnaissance mission to find us some fall colours and I stumbled upon this place. The lighting was so gorgeous and the colours were perfect! I was so excited to find this perfect spot for their family session. We had so much fun during this session – tickling, giggling, throwing leaves, pushing jogging strollers through makeshift trails and attempting to feed birds. Lauren was adorable and didn’t need any direction for posing for the camera and sweet little Ethan was content to sit in a pile of leaves and explore!

Thank you Janet and Marc for having me out to capture your family at this beautiful time of year! I’m thrilled with what we have created! Enjoy your sneak peek – I’ll be in touch with your gallery soon!

Wow Wow!!! I love these photos! The setting, beautiful family, lighting is brilliant.

I love getting the call from past clients that they are expecting again! Karl, Miranda, Ben and I had a great time 2 years ago at Ben’s newborn session (in fact, Ben was the poster child for Jennifer Boggett Photography for a while!). His session can be found here.

Kate is the newest addition to this wonderful family and I can already see some personality traits coming out! She is squeaky just like her brother – when I changed her position she would let out a little squeak and then settle down again. She was also quite assertive ( a trait I love!) – she let me know very calmly which poses she would and wouldn’t be put into. If I curled her up and she didn’t like it, she would calmly uncurl and settle down. It wouldn’t matter how many times I tried!  When she was comfy – she would stay put as long as I needed her too. She is a sweet, snuggly little thing and I enjoyed our morning together so much!

Chatting with Karl and Miranda and playing outside with Ben added even more enjoyment to my morning. This is a fun, interesting family with a wonderful sense of humour. There were lots of laughs! The session ended with a good giggle about the “girly” piddle that was left on the blanket by Kate. Heart shaped, how sweet is that?

Thank you Karl and Miranda for having me over again! I always enjoy our conversations and your sense of humour! Enjoy your sneak peek! I’ll be in touch with the rest of your gallery soon.

They are all incredible but let me just say…you have a WAY with interaction shots!! I can’t wait to have my own little one so you can photograph our love. That’s what you do…capture the love and the moment…not just the people. Seriously love your work! Wonderful job as always!

I have known this particular Mum since she was born (I was a child at her baby shower decades ago), and I love how Jenn has captured what is most true, Motherhood has developed pure joy in Miranda that is palpable in the photo of Mir holding her daughter! I cannot wait to meet Kate!

I met little Jake and his parents the day that he turned one month. As most photographers will tell you, it’s hard to predict what a session with a one month old will be like as they aren’t quite as “bendy” and they are starting to be more alert. Jake’s parents and I agreed that we would just follow his lead and see what we got! I love that we focused mostly on captures with Jake and his  parents in these as these are always my favourites from a session.

I was introduced to the magic pink exercise ball this session. At one point during the session it was obvious that Jake was tired but he was having a difficult time getting to sleep. His Mom scooped him up, snuggled him and sat and bounced on the ball. Almost immediately he calmed down and closed his eyes. Something that puts your child to sleep while giving you a workout?! I’ll take two!

The other little story that stands out from this session happened while I was taking photos of Jake and his mother. I went to the window to arrange the curtains and peeked in the backyard. Jake’s dad was back there, with a vase, picking flowers. Apparently he does this often. I thought about what a sweet model this was for Jake as he grows up. Even during busy, somewhat chaotic times (as it can be with a new baby in the house), it’s important to take part in little tasks that we enjoy. When we arrived back downstairs, this was sitting on the table (love the colours!):

Thank you Jake, Aimy and Ian for the wonderful morning. I have enjoyed getting to know you and I can’t wait for you to see your full gallery! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Oh my goodness!!! Jenn, we are thrilled even with just our sneak peek, these are absolutely beautiful! I love love love the eye contact with Jake in the first shot!

As you know I was a little nervous as we were discussing doing more interactive shots with us and Jake and about being too critical on the pictures with me in it since I’m still carrying quite a bit of extra weight (for me) from the pregnancy but all that goes out the window when I see these intimate shots with my little man :) I’m so so happy to have these…

We can’t wait to see the rest of our gallary… thank you in advance for your work, you were so great to work with, you made it smooth and easy for us and you’ve given us a gift that we are sure to cherish for a lifetime :)

Jenn, you are such an inspiration to me. These are incredible, as usual!

After the initial meeting with Steve and Deb I knew I REALLY wanted to shoot this wedding. It was on a relaxed Monday afternoon and only a few people knew about it. Their plan was to surprise their friends and colleagues once they returned home from their “holidays”. When we discussed what they wanted with their photography, they said “We trust you to do your thing. Capture the wedding as it happens”. I was excited!

When I sit down to write my blog posts I pick a detail or moment that sticks out in my mind. If I didn’t limit myself, I’d be writing novels for blog posts. The thing that struck me most about Deb and Steve were just how surrounded by love they were. There were less than 20 people at this wedding, and they all contributed little details to make the day memorable. Two “attachments” to their getaway car, large “congratulations” signs placed outside their house and on their balcony, a special guest book and a fireworks show – these were all put together (with minimal planning time!) by their friends. Love and friendship was the focus of the day and I felt so honoured to be a part of it.

Deb and Steve – I have enjoyed all of the time we have spent together discussing the details, planning the album and hearing your honeymoon stories. I hope we get the chance to work together again in the future! You two are lucky to have each other and I am so happy we met. I hope you enjoy your blog post (finally!).

You are an amazing photographer and have a wonderful spirit.

Warmest regards and appreciation,
Deb and Steve
